As the production, consumption and commercialization of cannabis is decriminalized and becomes legal, more and more fairs, events, conferences, exhibitions and congresses are being organized around this plant and its derivatives.
The objectives of this intense activity around cannabis range from changing the image of cannabis as a totally recreational product, to the exchange of information on advances in the development of strains, crops, technologies and forms of industrialization and marketing of this product.
The agenda of festivals, meetings and conferences on cannabis continues to grow every year, so in this article we will only mention some of the most important ones.
Virtual Conferences
The Covid-19 pandemic during 2020 and most of 2021 (some believe it is not over) spurred the growth and consolidation of encounters, exhibitions and conferences in virtual form.
This modality is probably already being combined with trade fairs and face-to-face meetings, which became possible again in 2021.

- The Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference, organized by Benzinga.
- The Royal Cannabis Entrepreneur Conference, organized by the RCEC.
- The ACannabis EVOLVE: Unlocking the Potential of Medicinal Cannabis, organized by MCIA.
- Expo Cannabiz Cartagena, organized by Expo Cannabis.
- Cannabis Care, organized by the American Cannabis Nurse Association.
Festivals and international events
The following are some of the main in-person events related to cannabis for the remainder of 2022 and during 2023.
Amsterdam Cannabis Expo (November 24-26)
Expo Amsterdam is one of the world's largest events for the cannabis community, bringing together more than 10,000 industry professionals from over a hundred countries to discuss and exchange opinions, learn about advances in cannabis cultivation, technologies and processes.
For three days, Amsterdam becomes the capital of the cannabis universe, and is an excellent place and time to make yourself known and establish contact with entrepreneurs and markets. It is for trade visitors only.
Expocannabis Uruguay (December 2 to 4, 2022)
The Expocannabis Uruguay is held at the Latus Events Center in Montevideo and is one of the most important platforms on hemp and cannabis in Latin America.
Spannabis (March 10 to 12, 2023)
Three days of fair in Barcelona (Spain), where you can visit exhibitions, visit stands, participate in forums and conferences. You will also be able to talk and exchange ideas with professionals and make business contacts.
280 international exhibitors and 3,900 invited professionals will participate. Spannabis is held at the Fira de Cornellà, in Cornellà de Llobregat, Barcelona.
Asian Hemp Summit
This event takes place in Kathmandu, Nepal, and was scheduled for January 2022, although it seems to have been postponed. It is considered the most exotic cannabis summit and is also one of the main gateways to the Asian market.
In the Assian Hemp Summit contacts can be made with professionals from India, Japan, China, Nepal, Thailand, Australia, Taiwan, Malaysia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, etc.
Future Cannabis Strategies Europe (January 25 and 26, 2023)
Future Cannabis Europe Strategies is an event for entrepreneurs and professionals in London to discuss trends and business strategies around different cannabis ventures.
